Federal Government declares Monday, Tuesday public holidays

The Federal Authorities has declared Monday, December 26 and Tuesday, December 27, 2016 in addition to Monday, January 2, 2017, as public holidays to mark the Christmas, Boxing Day and 2017 New 12 months celebrations respectively.

The Minister of Inside, Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd.), made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Authorities on Wednesday in Abuja.

He urged Christians and Nigerians usually to stay dedicated and supportive of the federal government of President Muhammadu Buhari “in his sustained efforts in the direction of constructing a peaceable, united and affluent nation.”

The minister, in an announcement by the appearing Everlasting Secretary, Ministry of Inside, Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido, known as on Nigerians to make use of the event to hope for peace, unity and peaceable co-existence throughout the nation.

“The minister needs Nigerians at dwelling and overseas a merry Christmas and affluent New 12 months 2017,” the assertion stated.
