Court remands suspected killers of army colonel in Kaduna prison



Suspected killers of slain Colonel Inusa Samaila have been remanded in Kaduna prison custody till Thursday 21st July, 2016 for hearing by Senior Magistrate Court 1 sitting in Kaduna yesterday.

Presiding judge, Chief Magistrate Emmanuel Yusuf, after reading the allegation leveled against the suspects, said he did not have the right to charge them but to advice the appropriate quarters.

“I don’t have the right to charge you. I am just to let you understand the allegation leveled against you and advise Chief Judge of Kaduna State.

“This case is hereby adjourned till 21st July 2016, for hearing while the accused be remanded in prison, ” ordered the chief magistrate.

Counsel to Police, Kenneth Dika, said the suspects will be charged for criminal conspiracy, illegal possession of fire arms, kidnapping as well as culpable homicide :” all which are punishable under Nigerian criminal laws” Dika said.

Peoples Daily recalls that on Saturday 26th March, 2016, one Emeka Okeke, Precious Ebele, Ibrahim Kabir, Chidioke Opehi and one Dan Sokoto who is now at large, allegedly kidnapped Colonel Inusa in the presence of his wife and son along Refinery junction in the state.

The body of the colonel was later found at a bush along Kaduna- Abuja high way days after his kidnapped.
