The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested 4 suspected kidnappers for allegedly gang-raping a girl in Yali, within the Ganjuwa Native Authorities Space of the state.

Our correspondent learnt that the suspects – Bala Mohammed, Dauda Damina, Mohammed Ahmed and Dahiru Mato – had been arrested on Sunday, January 1, 2017, by detectives hooked up to the Ganjuwa division after a tip-off.

It was gathered that the suspects had on November 28, 2016 stormed the home of the girl in Mada Dutsen Kura hamlet and attacked her husband, one Abubakar Mohammed, earlier than gang-raping the lady.

Based on the police, the suspects thereafter demanded a ransom of N150,000, after which the husband paid N35,000, earlier than the suspects fled the condo.

The Bauchi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Mohammed, who confirmed the arrests, mentioned the suspects had confessed to the crime and can be charged to court docket.

The suspect allegedly threatened to kidnap one 30-yr-previous Jamilu Abubakar of the identical handle by means of a textual content message.
